Old Eain Café

Old Eain Café is a café in Dagon Township, Yangon, Myanmar, serving coffee and snacks in a traditional culture and comfortable home atmosphere. They are participating in the case challenge to develop new approaches to achieve sustainable social impact. Old Eain Café expects to benefit from creativity, entrepreneurship, and a focus on community. The student Ma Thiri Lwin hopes to gain experience in real business scenarios, practice strategic and critical thinking skills and establish a network. She expects to enhance skills like strategic thinking, problem-solving and time management.

Pann Nann Ein Social Enterprise

Pann Nann Ein is a social enterprise, founded by Ma Hnin Phyu Kaung in Myanmar, with the vision of enabling people with disabilities to live full, dignified lives by creating a sustainable livelihood through the production of high-quality handmade products. Their most desirable outcome is to see how to overcome the challenges as a ”Disability-Inclusive Social Enterprise“.

The master’s student Mr. Nyi Zaw Nyunt of Yangon University of Economics is experienced in banking and finance and participates in the case challenge to apply and expand his skills. He wants to meet like-minded students and professionals. The student is excited about problem-solving and innovation and hopes to improve his skills related to strategic thinking, communication and time management.

SMEBi SME Business Institute

Established in 2015, the SMEBi SME Business Institute set up a capacity building training for the Small Median Business in Myanmar, who are in charge of operating and running the local business. This training helped identify opportunities for their social enterprise and find out who the target customers are, develop a business strategy and social business plan. SMEBi believe in the benefit of working together on projects.

They expect to implement strategies in digital marketing, business development and benefit from social entrepreneurship skills and corporate governance as an outcome of the case challenge. The student Wint War Maung attended Yangon University of Economics. Wint War Maung likes challenges and competitions and hopes to benefit from skills such as strategic thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and leadership.

U Lay Gyi school Dress center

U Nyi Nyi Aung founded the U Lay Gyi school Dress center in Myanmar. Through the case challenge, he hopes to learn about the challenges in their business and analyze social and economic impacts. Moreover, he expects to share knowledge and experience from diverse business backgrounds. As an outcome, the founder expects to find ways to solve challenges and control the present stable business conditions for sustainable development. The student Aye Chan Thet Paing of Yangon University of Economics participates in the challenge to gain experience, apply her skills, and analyze and evaluate outcomes. She is excited to network, adopt innovative techniques and improve strategic, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Plan Bee

Ma Thida Win is representing the Social Enterprise Plan Bee as Chief Executive Officer. The company sells organic honey from Myanmar. She regards the case challenge as a great opportunity to work with students and educate young people about the honey and beekeeping business. Besides, she expects to raise awareness of the social enterprise and hopes to gain knowledge on markets, receive valuable feedback and raise capital for the sustainable development of the enterprise. The student Pwint Nay Chi Soe just finished her Business Management Bachelor’s degree. She joined the case challenge to practice brainstorming and planning as well as to help others. She is excited to solve cases and to learn about Social Enterprises and their challenges.
